GEORGIAN, VICTORIAN STABLES
We have converted these derelict stables into a four-bedroom house, maintaining the style and character of this part-Georgian building.
Original fittings, joinery, doors and windows have been re-used and we have specified and drawn matching where appropriate.
The walls were re-pointed in lime (except to the North which remain unweathered); the roof was re-laid and the cast iron rainwater goods re-fitted. The original stable in the centre of the plan is now the living-kitchen; the other rooms lead off this in each direction. Two stairs, the primary to the main bedroom, make the most of the linear character of the building.
Our client was sympathetic to working with the structure of the original building and the ease with which the conversion fits is testament to this.
